Meet the Coaches
While working as a sales and marketing professional in the alcohol industry, Adam truly enjoyed the good times his products brought to people who were looking to get a quick pick me up – but the thrill from that industry was as temporary for him as the buzz was for his clients. A few years in, Adam discovered the sport of CrossFit and experienced monumental improvements to nearly every aspect of his life. He quickly realized that his calling was to arm people with the vital skills they need to feel on top of the world (sans booze) that would last a lifetime, and ultimately transform their lives.
“This might sound overly simple, but I believe that clean eating and functional fitness is the cornerstone of success of all types. CrossFit not only builds a strong body, it teaches character, responsibility to be better today than you were yesterday. We’re all capable of extraordinary things no matter your age, genetics, or social status. Sometimes you just need that extra push from a team like ours!”
Michael founded Society Barbell & Fitness to find a simple solution to a real problem: Getting fit and healthy has become passion-void and boring. He believes that fitness should be fun, creative, motivational and something you look forward to doing every day!
“The moment I decided the globo gym scene wasn’t working for me, it was instantly clear that I needed to find a better way to get fit, and when I did, I needed to bring everyone with me. We created Society to put the athleticism and passion back into fitness. The competitive aspect of CrossFit and the group dynamic really make our training methodology something you can get excited about. I can’t wait to help others fall in love with it the way I have!”
Prior to Society, Michael was a sales, marketing and business development expert. He is also our resident die hard sports fan – specifically the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, Indians, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. If you want to nerd out on anything sports related, he’s your guy.

Coach Tony’s mission is to shape health, well-being and mindset by way of fitness and nutrition. He believes that by teaching his members about their bodies, how they function, the fuel they need to operate at their best, and ways to de-stress he can empower them to create new found habits which they can apply far after they have hit their fitness goals.
“I want to show our members the real joy that comes from blowing past their self-imposed limits. There’s no other feeling like it. And that goes for me too. I love helping our members build confidence. They usually come in knowing what their weaknesses are, but they’re unaware of how strong they really are. While we always work on improving weaknesses, I believe it’s just as important to celebrate accomplishments and strengths because fitness should be fun! And when it’s fun, it becomes something you look forward to doing.”
Coach Tony has had the privilege to train all sorts of athletes including beginners, college athletes, professional race-car drivers and everyone in between. When Coach Tony isn’t training or coaching at Society, he can be found rowing, paddle boarding and wakeboarding the Biscayne Bay.
